Lucky Lyn-Lyn at Big School, written by Lyn Lozano Galicia and illustrated by Dan Negrut, has received a Second Place Award in the Nonfiction – Children’s – Family category at The BookFest Awards. The recognition is a new milestone for the Lucky Lyn-Lyn children’s book series.
A Story About Courage and Asking
The book follows Lyn-Lyn and her little sister, Bing-Bing, who have just moved from busy Manila to Happy Island. When the sisters learn they are expected to attend different schools, Lyn-Lyn decides to ask one important question that might change everything: could they go to school together?
Through this relatable childhood adventure, young readers learn that being brave doesn’t always mean doing something big. Sometimes it simply means finding the courage to ask. The book explores courage, sisterhood, adapting to change, and the confidence to speak up, and it is recommended for children aged 3 to 8.
Inspired by Real Childhood Adventures
The Lucky Lyn-Lyn series is inspired by real childhood adventures and the small moments that teach some of life’s biggest lessons. Through Lyn-Lyn’s stories, the series hopes to inspire children everywhere to dream big, believe in themselves, embrace their imagination, choose kindness, and find the courage to take on new adventures.
